Happy Birthday America

Since we have the holiday upon us and everyone will be out watching fireworks and barbecuing, I am going to spend this post talking about the best way (and all around tips) for photographing fireworks.  Since it can be tricky to capture that perfect shot of each light burst trail falling to the ground there are a few things you have to know…

…I’m actually joking.  In all my time photographing, I am sad to say I have never brought out my professional equipment and seriously tried to get great fireworks shots!  I have always wanted to, the opportunity was just never presented to me.  So, tomorrow (today actually) if you have always wanted to take pictures of fireworks, then go do it!  Make a point to get the best shot you have ever thought of getting.  I will be doing the same.

Happy Birthday America!

Jones Engagement Portraits in SoCal

Just over one week until I get to fly halfway across the country to welcome a new Jones into the family and photograph my cousin’s wedding.  The weather in the Midwest is looking to be quite adventurous, however, we will definitely come away with some fun imagery, rain or shine! (preferably shine, of course)  Here are some of the engagement portraits from Southern California that I shot a while back.  I can’t wait for the big day!
